Synopsis:

Sayid, Kate, Danielle, and Locke continue to try and find The Others’ camp where they hope to rescue Jack… with Creepy Eyepatch Guy in tow. Claire has an idea on how to get rescued. Via flashback Claire meets her father (Christian Shepard.) after she and her mother are in a severe car accident.

Lost Season 2, Episode 12: Fire + Water

Synopsis:

Jack and Ana Lucia grow closer as Claire and Charlie grow further apart.  Charlie begins to resent how much time Locke spends with Claire and Aaron.  Via flashbacks we learn abotu Charlie’s struggle to get his brother clean and how it leads to his own addiction.  Charlie has hallucinations that Aaron’s life is in danger.

Lost Season 1, Episode 12: Hearts and Minds

Synopsis:

Boone and Locke continue to try and uncover more of the mysterious hatch in the jungle. Via flashbacks we learn about Shannon and Boone’s brotherly/sisterly loooove. Hurley and Jin bond while fishing. When Boone insists on sharing the secret of the hatch with Shannon, Locke knocks him out and applies a weird concoction to his wound which causes Boone to hallucinate what would happen if Shannon was let in on the secret, including her death.

Cool Stuff

- Another episode that begins with an eye close-up. This time it’s Boone’s as he watches Sayid and Shannon get closer.

- We see Sun’s garden for the first time and while working in it with her, Kate discovers that she speaks English.

Knowing What We Know Now and Observations of Continuity:

- Another overlapping pre-island incident: as Boone tries to get the Australian police to investigate Shannon’s boyfriend we see Sawyer being arrested in the same police station.

- After Locke gives Sayid his compass, Sayid realizes that maybe due to some magnetic anomaly the compass isn’t reading correctly. He chalks it up to the compass being broken instead. We now know better.

Silly Nina Noticed Stuff:

- Jin is still wearing the one handcuff from the episode when he attacks Michael.

- After he steps on a sea urchin Hurley hilariously begs Jin to pee on his foot.

The Unexplained That’s Still Unexplained:

- Where did Locke get this hallucinating concoction?

- How did it make Boone so accurately imagine the workings of the smoke monster which he’d never seen?

- “Is that what it made you see?,” Locke asked Boone. What’s it? The island? The smoke monster? Grrrrrr.
