TCTBTF: Week 1 Goals

How’d you do on your first Too Cute To Be This Fat goal?
Remember, mine was to eliminate all soda for a week. I slipped up twice. Once, we got some Italian take-out and I instinctively ordered a Sprite. Don’t you hate it when you slip up on your diet and it’s not even worth it. I was halfway done with the Sprite when I realized that 1. I was drinking something I had no business drinking and 2. it tasted like ass. Then, later in the week Kali asked if I would buy some Apple Fanta because she’d never heard of apple soda. Neither had I, so I did and I tried one. It was like fizzy apple juice.
I’ve lost 3lbs this week just by cutting out down on soda. This week my goal is to continue with the no soda and only water challenge and incorporate a no fast food challenge.
I’m about to head to the market and do my grocery shopping for the week. I’ve made a dinner menu and everything.
Chicken Tacos
Fish Tacos
Southwestern Cilantro Lime Mango Grilled Chicken Sandwiches
Chili
Sage Pork Chops w/ Parmesan Rice
And one night we’re going out to dinner for an assignment I have.
So, how’d you do this week? What will your week 2 goal be?
P.S. Need some extra motivation? Try going in your closet and looking at all the cute clothes you can no longer wear. That’ll set your ass straight real quick.

LikeWho was I kidding? I know that the surest way I ever lose weight is when I am depressed. Thanks to the "separation" (we are no longer calling it a break-up) I have been to stressed and depressed to eat much. I easily lost 2 pounds the first week, and this second week, I am enjoying the loser waist band. To maintain it, I am just eating smaller portions of everything.

LikeJust checking in. I am still depressed, and that is the best appetite suppressant ever. I have been eating less, even on the days when I have an appetite because I don't want to sabotage the progress. the numberon my scale has gone down, but it is like 10 pounds off from the scale at my doctors office so I dont know my true weight. I just know when I look in the mirror, my profile is thinner, and my clothes are loser.

LikeI also did the no soda thing. I however did not weigh or measure myself... but my pants were tighter yesterday! and I didn't slip up. I even ate Salads on Friday and Saturday. So I am still trying to do no Soda, more water and also (instead of saying no fast food) I am goingto try to cook dinner every day and bring some type of lunch ... Saving money and being healthy? It is going to be rough... I need to measure though because I feel fatter! and I just went and got a coke... I had $.65 and i couldn't get a water....

Likeweek 1 went well for me, i did slip up and have a dr pepper when i went to lunch with my boss this week.
i have replaced the soda with sparkling flavored water. my children even think they are soda and want to drink them. It still has that carbonation effect which have helped with the cravings.
this week is to eliminate the sweets and continue with water and natural juices.

LikeNina, if you get a minute could you send me the link for the fish tacos again (and the chicken if possible) your menu sounds amazing for the week. If you're interested, I just posted a recipe on Kitchen Witch for chili made with ground turkey that turned out really well.
I'm doing well with my healthy eating/exercising but this a great way to stay motivated.

I jogged 3x last week after reading your blog. I messed up last night and had a few two many cocktails. Haven't lost any weight but i've been dippin into trick or treat candy like i've never seen a kit kat b4. I need to buck up and just throw all that crap away.

LikeWow 3 lbs??? thats awesome!
This is what I was going for:
Week 1- Nov 1st- Smaller portions, more fruit and NO soda.
Week 2- Nov 8th- Walk more often, to the train station and etc.
I slipped up once on the soda. It wasn't even worth it. The more fruit I did ok. Not as good as I expected. I am trying to eat @ least 3 pieces of fruit a day. The smaller portions worked out.
My 2nd week is going to be easy to incorporate. Its the continuation of the first week goals that is going to be difficult.
Id like to incorporate a no fast food to my diet but that one is going to be extra difficult. I get home rather late to want to cook and my mom rarely cooks food anymore. Im wondering how replacing fast food meals with cold cut and pbnj sandwiches would work. Id get my fruit serving that way also. What do you guys think?

Like3 lbs already? Nice!
Since we're still getting settled in, I wasn't even going to start until the weekend. BUT this week I did organize the kitchen enough so we can cook again, and I cleared a path to the elliptical. Those should count, right?

LikeThe Southwest grilled chicken sandwiches sound yummy! Can you post the recipe?
This week I did ok except I ate some halloween candy. And I find that when I eat some sweets, I crave more and more. So this week my goal is not to eat any desserts/sugar. Here's how I trick myself into it: if I crave sweets, I tell myself I can have a little... after I drink a cup of tea first. Then I make some really sweet herbal tea (English Toffee is a really good dessert one), and most likely I can be strong enough to resist actual sugar afterward.
Also I was sick for a couple of days so I didn't work out. So another goal is to get back to my work out routine this week. It's so much harder after not having done it for a while!

LikeMy parents are coming into town this weekend. in anticipation, I have consumed enough alcohol this week to drown a small nation. I have worked late every night and not walked the dogs at all....so next week I hope to walk 3-4 time a week and not drink beer every night.

LikeSo far, so good. My goal was to work out 4 times this week. I have 2 down and 2 to go (Sat & Sun). I've lost 2 pounds.
Next goal, stick to a meal plan: 3 meals, 2 snacks. I'm using my Spark People iPhone app.

LikeWell, I did pretty well with my week 1 goal, which was to cut way back on alcohol consumption. However, I got my period and went kind of crazy. Chilli, krispie kreme cupcakes (triple chocolate), and tequilla. And chocolate chip cookies.
*hangs head in shame*
I just could not stop myself!
Anyway, my goal for week 2 is to eat 1900 calories per day.

LikeNot so great, but I have no 'cute clothes' to look at!! LOL
I did manage to lose one pound but didn't stick to ANY of my goals.
I am going to try again next week....no cokes and no bread, except for lunch time meals and add walking to the list since the gym is a no go right now!
