Nina’s Top Ten Signs That She Watches Too Much TV

10. While waiting at a red light, Donny asked me if I’d seen the hair-do of a woman that had just driven by.
“No. I missed it.”
Silence.
“Wait. Did you just reach for a TiVo remote to rewind real life?”
I did.
9. True Story: A few weeks ago, while in class, my ear clogged up and everything sounded far away. Then I started hearing some weird staticy sound – like someone tuning a radio.
I briefly wondered if I was a Cylon.
8. Name any day, any hour, and I can name at least three shows coming on at that time. Test me.
7. I know the halls of County General like the back of my hand.
6. I have a soft-spoken white woman do all of my life narrations a la Desperate Housewives. So what if only I can hear her.
5. I end all arguments with, “The tribe has spoken.”
4. Richard is paid to watch TV, and yet I still watch more than he does.
3. I’m a member of an elite squad known as the special victims’ unit.
2. The only thing keeping me from committing murder is Gil Grissom.
1. In times of great indecision I find myself wondering, “WWJBD?”
What would Jack Bauer do?

Nina is a 34-year-old mother, wife and writer who spends her days blogging, studying, changing diapers and watching ridiculous amounts of TV. She currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia, with her husband, two children and three TiVos.

Strange... I find myself wondering... WWJOD?
What would Jackie O do?

LikeDo you watch Lie to Me? I'm addicted to that show too.
And I wanted to ask you since your such a SciFi buff, do you watch Doctor Who? The new ones, not the 70s-80s stupid ones. David Tenant is the best! I'm sad he's not the Doctor in the new ones, but I don't get BBC so I don't have to watch the new guy yet.

LikeI put the series on my Netflix via Xbox queue. I watched the first one, but not all of the episodes are available for online viewing so I stopped. It seemed really quirky.

LikeWell, it's complicated. The guy who played in Season 1 (Christopher Eckelson) is not the one who played in Seasons2-5, which is who I like. And the new season has yet another Doctor. But it plays into the storyline, so it makes sense. They acknowledge that the Doctor looks differently, because he's "regenerated." Since he's a millenia-old Time Lord, and practically invincible, he can't die, but if he gets right to the cusp of it, he has to regenerate, so he looks differently. David Tenant is quirky, but I think he's hilarious. Maybe I have too much Irish/British blood in me, so I understand British humor.
God I sound like such a dork right now.

LikeI don't know any of the shows you are talking about above except the Tribe has Spoken. I'm lost on Everything else. lol
I use to be such a tv junkie. Now you have to watch every week to keep up and I can't. When lost started I wanted to look at it but couldn't keep up. Desperate housewives is on too late for me.
I made the mistake of watching nip/tuck the other and have't watched it since, although I really want to, because i don't know when it comes on. I don't know what channel is fx or if I even have it (I watche dit at someone else's house). Its just too much trouble to look it up when I probably can't keep up to it anyway. lol
oooooooohhhhhhhhh. I'm getting excited. lol. You know what I just started getting into? Curb Your Enthusiasm. I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee that show. I love it more than Seinfeld. And I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeee Seinfeld. (I know I know he wrote it). I'm telling you I'm getting excited just thinking about that show. lol I didn't get into it till the other day. Just like I didn't get into Seinfeld till it went into repeats on FOX. Do you have any old blogs about CYE? I really want to talk about it. lolI know you write about tv shows and I don't watch them till after the fact. Then I get excited. lol
I really want to get into WEEDS but can't find the time. Sigh.

LikeI've never written about CYE. The funniest CYE EVER was one season finale where Larry had this grand opening for his restaurant... and the chef had tourettes. HOLY SHIT. Funny as hell. Oh, and the one where he was playing tennis with his wife and every time she swung at the ball, she snorted. He told her she sounded like pigs fucking. You know that show is improv, right? That's what makes you appreciate it more.
I got my Mom to watch about five episodes of the first season of Weeds last night. We'll watch more tomorrow or Friday. She's going to church tonight and I'm gonna get my workout/homework on before Lost at 9pm.

LikeALL episodes of CYE are way funny.
My coworkers go crazy for weeds. They say its such a good show. I'll have to man up or woman up (lol) and buy the seasons on DVD.
My whole family goes crazy for Smallville. I tried to watch it but its too much. He always wants to kiss the girl but he doesn't and you know that he is never going to because Superman grows up and still doesn't get the girl. That show sucks.

LikeWhat?!? Buffy and Angel were the greatest shows ever! Then Dexter (Which, really, if you have not seen it you SHOULD! It is excellent), Lost, Heroes, Bones, House, Smallville, and Friday Night lights. Fringe and Dollhouse are awesome also. But, definately, Buffy is the ultimate, nothing-will-ever-top-it show. Joss Whedon is a genious. I miss my Spike and Angelus :-/

I'm enthralled by your memory. Seriously, there is a lot of shows that I have watched from the beginning and forget the small details, and even have a hard time remembering WHEN my favorite shows are on.
All hail the powerful Nina.
