Digg, Dean, and Doing My Homework For Me
March 8, 2009 by nina
Filed under Blog It Out, Bitch
I’ve been extremely the past two weeks as I’m sure most of you can tell by my sporadic Mommy Monday, BIOBaby, and Blog It Out, Bitch postings. Not to mention the day late TV recaps. Midterms are a bitch. I’m happy to report that they’re over, and today officially starts my Spring Break. There are a lot of little things I wanted to mention so I thought it best to post them all in one hodgepodge of a blog.
Digg
Some of you might have noticed the new Digg and Reddit buttons at the top of all of my posts. Digg and Reddit are social media sites that can help me expose my blogs to more people, but I need your help. If you don’t already have accounts at those sites, signing up is easy. You can sign up at Digg here, and Reddit here. Once you’ve done that, the rest is easy.
Whenever you read a blog here at Blog It Out, Bitch that you really like, for whatever reason, just click the Digg and Reddit buttons on that blog. If you’re the first, you’ll have to submit it – a submission form auto populates for you. If someone has already done so, just click the up arrows to indicate you liked it. I don’t expect you to “up arrow: every blog, but if you like it, please do. I’d appreciate it.
I’m also at Stumbleupon.com. If you’re already a member, friend request me. I’m Neenerspb. If you sign up there and install the Stumbleupon bar, whenever you read a blog of mine that you like, simply click the “I like it!” thumbs up button on your browser.
Dean
Last week Wednesday I had a meeting with the dean regarding the horrible experience I’m having in my biology class. The meeting was scheduled for 3p.m. at the ghetto campus. I got there three minutes after the hour, and he wasn’t there! His secretary said I’d just missed him, and she wasn’t sure if he just stepped out to the bathroom or was gone for good. After waiting for about 25 minutes, I asked to meet with his supervisor.
While meeting with him, the dean called from his cell phone. He’d forgotten our meeting. Nice. It actually worked out for the best because I was able to report her incompetence to both the dean and his boss. The meeting went well and I felt good in that everything I was saying was truthful and justified. He said he would have to meet with her to hear her side, but agreed with me on all the points I’d addressed. I e-mailed him a list of everything we’d discussed… you know, to make sure he didn’t forget anything when meeting with her.
I don’t know if he has spoken to her yet, but as soon as I know more, you will too.
Survey
I have to conduct a survey for both of my journalism classes. I need at least 20 participants, but the more people that answer, the more credit I’ll get. I can only log responses that answer every question, so if you participate be sure to answer all five. Thanks!
1. When did you last read a newspaper?
2. Do you subscribe to a paper?
3. Where do you get your news?
4. Age
5. Gender
Please answer in a comment below.
Schedule Info
And finally, check the Blog It Out, Bitch posting schedule as there will be some changes starting this week. This Monday marks the last The L Word recap as the series finale is tonight, and there will be no more Nip/Tuck recaps until next season as the fifth season ended last week. The Wednesday entertainment blog will be the Rescue Me recap when the show starts in a few weeks.I’ll also be recapping Harper’s Island when it begins in April. I can’t wait! It looks super creepy.
I missed last Sunday’s Amazing Race due to a snow storm that knocked out our DirecTV so tomorrow’s recap will just pick with tonight’s episode. This past Friday’s Battlestar Galactica recap will be up shortly. And I’ll most likely do a double recap of last week’s Survivor with this week’s. Also, TCTBTF blogs return this Friday.
Thanks for your patience. As always, thanks for reading. You know I appreciate it. Now, answer the survey and help a sistah with her homework!
Hope your weekend has been awesome!
