I didn’t think Cavil had anything to do with switching on the four because he seemed hell bent on keeping the Cylons from seeking them out. That’s what started the whole civil war to begin with. For instance, we now know that he was chillin’ with Ellen during the whole Eye of Jupiter stuff.

I think whoever switched them on is all tied to Kara as a kid, Head Six appearing to Gaius for all these years, the messengers that appeared to the final five while they were on Earth, Kara’s death/return, and even the Temple of the Five revealing the faces to D’Anna.

I’m not expecting a destruction of Galactica. I think Anders being tied in to Galactica with her Cylon bone marrow transplant will have her running better than ever by the end of the battle.
A was leaning towards Cavil being the source of the song that turned on the final 4. But since he seems to have no clue what Hera’s doing, I think not.
That photo tribute wall always brings back some sad 9/11 memories.
It sure sounded to me like Gaius slipped in an F bomb during his tirade against his dad. See what it sounds like on your TiVo.
Gaius did look like he thought his shoes would catch fire if he tried to cross that line.

Great recap as usual.

There is definitely a third (higher-plane) party involved that will be revealed as the series unwinds. When that happens all the (excuse me) petty, human-centric petty questions and issues that are torturing you (us?) will become de-facto meaningless.This show is not about our little lives (humans and cylons). It’s about providing entertainments to the powers-that-be. Just like our real lives are.

Honestly, I was expecting more from this episode, but chalking it up to being only the first 40 mins of a two hour movie. That and my own personal expectations I guess. Downer about the Pres’s family. Your description is sometimes better than the show. Can’t wait until next week!

How long is the finale supposed to be? Since I don’t have cable, I have to download it from Itunes, and it already takes an hour to download the regular episodes lol…

I have a feeling they are going to leave a lot of things open ended, and not give us specifics to most of your questions. My main concern is the whole ‘kara thrace is the harbinger of death’ thing, and the dying leader will lead them stuff…

They harped on those things for so long and built a lot of hype around those that they have to mean something, so i’m curious to know what.

Plus, Since S1E1 the head six has been telling Gauis how important his role in the whole ‘plan’ is. Obviously he was key in blowing up the colonies. Then he was integral in the cylon invasion on new caprica. But it seems to me that he should have more importance in the last episode, because lately he has become something of joke amongst the rest of the main characters (human and cylon).

And if they end the last episode completely open ended, I’m gonna be livid.

i just have to say that I love your recaps…i have a really bad habit of working while i watch tv, even shows i like and last night i was re-categorizing my tax items in Quicken so I can do my taxes…thus I missed a lot of the details which you have so graciously provided

I have a feeling they arent going to answer a lot of questions. I think the writers started with one vision and then changed direction and now tying loose ends will be hard. I doubt when the show started they even had a “final five” and if they did they didnt know who it would be…most of them werent introduced to the series until later seasons ( Tory, Anders, Ellen ).
