What we're supposed to believe, I think, from the information provided so far is that there were 13 colonies and one left for Earth. While they were gone, somewhere along the way the humans of the 12 colonies created Cylons for military defense. The Cylons revolted, there was a war, and during a 40 year truce the Cylons disappeared and came up with the technology to look human. They struck and that's where the show picked up. What they've now found out is that the 13th colony were Cylons, not humans and apparently they were skin jobs. The corpses in the rubble suggest that they went to war with their own Centurions - just like the humans of Kobol - and they all died in nuclear blasts.

I would say that the original humans of the 12 colonies didn't know that the 13th were Cylons or if they did, they altered their history because everyone of the 12 colonies grew up believing the stories of the 13th colony of humans going to Earth. It seems obvious that the "final" five were actually the first five seeing as how they died 2,000 years ago on Earth.

What we need to know now is 1. Who created the original Cylons on the 12 colonies that eventually turned against them and caused the war Adama and Tigh fought in? 2.Is it coincidence that the Cylons developed the technology to look human in the 40 years no one had heard from the? We now know that the first five had the knowledge 2000 years ago. 3. Who "flipped the switch" that activated the final four? Was it Ellen? Was she resurrected with her Cylon memories and activated the other four? Why? 4. Where the frak has she been this whole time?

So many questions. For example, the way I understood it, it sounded as if upon landing on earth and doing a little figuring, they're now saying that the cylons on earth were the original colony, and the 12 colonies were sort of sprung out of them. Also, does this mean you, me and all us other earthlings are cylons? And if earth was populated entirely by cylons, who created them? And where did they all go?

ok so I am of the camp that says everyone is a machine...just different models and versions. I think that the final/original 5 were actually the ones capable of ressurection and that they masked their memories in order to blend in with this last batch of non/resurrecting models aka "humans"

either that or they are delving into some crazy time/space continum like Heroes where things happen in different time planes and all that star cluster jumping has put them back at their own past/future....

i have a headache now!

Yeah, that's true. We're used to calling them "final" because they were the final to be revealed. And they have to be the originals if they were alive on Earth 2,000 years ago. *sigh* I can't wait till Friday night!!!

i recognized her the very first time i saw her! (i must still have pent-up anger toward "benny" because she reminded me of a rich, snobby twat from high school. haha!! i have issues)

i couldn't believe she had aged so much, but then i looked it up and saw that she was 25 when she played a high school senior, so it makes sense.

bitch still looks better than i do.

Okay, so the difference is that the final 5 CAN produce offspring. You remember that the other male Cylons (1, 2, 4, and 5) were unable to make it happen and that's why the Sharon #8 on Caprica needed Helo to impregnate her. So I'm thinking that is one of the many differences between the final 5 and the others. ALTHOUGH, I believe "Final" is a misnomer. I think they're the "original" 5. Just a guess.

So, that means Tigh, Tyrol, and Sam gotta lot of frakkin' to do to carry on the species.

i think D'anna is holding the information because she doesn't trust anyone. Maybe it's her last grasp at power.

I don't know about the "final" Cylon, but it does go to show that they no longer need the resurrection ships to ensure their "survival." If they can reproduce they are now just like the humans, including mortal.

Yeah, I don't think that was the only reason she was discounted as being a Cylon though. And it's obvious that she passed because Gaius has been just as anxious to figure out the final five as everyone else. If he knew all along, that's really bad writing as we've seen him try to find out for two seasons now. Now, that being said, the test was pretty much written off as unreliable.
